How do I schedule a web assessment?

You can schedule web application assessments to run automatically at defined intervals. This allows you to continuously assess your web applications without manual intervention.

Create a scheduled web application assessment

  1. Log in to your Security Center.

  2. In the main navigation bar, hover over Assessments.

  3. From the dropdown menu, select Schedules.

  4. Select Web from the dropdown menu.

  5. Click Create new scheduleWeb scanVulnerability scan.

Target

Under Target, configure the following:

  • Target: Select the web application you want to assess.

  • Reuse sitemap: Use the most recent sitemap for faster vulnerability scans.

General Information

Under General Information, enter the following:

  • Name: A descriptive name for the schedule (for example, Weekly standard assessment).

  • Owner: The owner of the schedule. This user will receive schedule-related notifications.

  • Share results: Share the assessment results with specific teams and grant read-only access.

  • Profile: Select the profile to use. You can choose to use the web application’s default profile or override it for this schedule.

  • Scanner Appliance:

    • Select External for an external assessment, or

    • Select an installed Scanner Appliance for local assessments.

Schedule

Under Schedule, configure when and how often the assessment runs:

  • Active: Enable the schedule and select the start date, time, and time zone. Select Don’t repeat to run the assessment once.

  • Start date: Select the first date the assessment should run.

  • Time: Set the time the assessment starts. Recurring assessments will always start at this time.

  • Time zone: Select the time zone for the schedule.

  • Repeat: Choose how often the assessment runs (daily, weekly, or monthly).

  • Every: Set the frequency in combination with the selected repeat option.

  • Day / Week / Month: Select the specific day, week, or month for the scheduled assessment.

Notifications

Under Notifications, configure alerts sent before and after the assessment:

Notifications before scan starts:

  • Notification channels: Select the channels used to send notifications.

  • Recipients: Select who will receive the notifications.

Notifications when scan is finished:

  • Notification channels: Select the channels used to send notifications.

  • Recipients: Select who will receive the notifications.

Click Submit to save the schedule.

Once submitted, the schedule is activated, and notifications will be sent according to your configuration.
