What is the general basics for setting up a Web Application Scan?

To setup a web application scanning, go through these steps.

  1. Install Scanner Appliance (local scanning only)
    For local scanning only, behind your firewall, you first need to install a Scanner Appliance:

  2. Create a profile
    Create a WAS profile with settings for how you want to perform the scan.

  3. Create web applications for each web app that you want to scan:

  4. Schedule or run only once
    Schedule a scan based on the profile, or run a scan one. Notice that you need to do this for each web application you want to scan.
