How do I setup a scan blackout window?

Scan blackout windows can be configured as a good way to make sure that scans are not run during specific time periods.

In order to setup a scan blackout window follow the steps below:

  1. Login into Security Center
  2. Click Top right menu icon
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Scan setup
  5. Click Enable blackout window
  6. Choose timeframe when you want the blackout window to be enabled
  7. Choose if you want paused scans to be resumed after blackout windows end.
Notice that this setting only affects network scans.
  8. Click OK
  9. Done!

NOTE! The blackout window will only affect scans that are initiated manually and not the scheduled scans.

What good is a blackoutwindow if it doesn't affect scheduled scans but only manual scans? This is just not logical. Eeven the other way around shouldn't be possible or you should ad a popup when running a manual scan during a blackoutwindow saying "Are you very very sure?".

A blackoutwindow should be a period when you don't want any risks to your production environment. Thus, no scans should run automatically.

I cannot think of any logical explanation regarding: NOTE! The blackout window will only affect scans that are initiated manually and not the scheduled scans.

It just doesn't make any sense to me.
