Can I install VMware Tools on the Scanner Appliance?

The Scanner Appliance is completely locked down without any shell at all. There is also no data on it that needs to be backed up. 

If it for some reason would stop works, you can easily install a new one with the image and it will apply all the latest updates of software and definitions.
