How do I create one or more network assets?
You can create a single host manually by adding it one by one or create many hosts at once. Scanning an IP range asset and all live hosts will automatically be added as separate hosts into your asset list.
Previously added hosts (manually or through a discovery scan) will not be overwritten when performing a discovery scan with the same IP addresses.
Please follow these steps to create one or more network assets.
- Log in to the Security Center.
- Click Asset Manager in the main menu.
- Click Network.
- Click on +Add Network asset.
- Under the headline Configure enter the following:
- IP/Network/Range: the host’s IP number. For example:
- 192.168.1.0
- 192.168.1.0/24
- 192.168.1.0-192.168.0.50
- Name: a name for the asset.
- Owner: select the owner of the asset.
- Business impact: Set the business impact value based on the importance of the asset to your organization.
- Description: here, you can enter a description for the asset.
- IP/Network/Range: the host’s IP number. For example:
- Under the headline Tags, search and check one or more tags you want to add to the asset.
- Click Save Changes.
- The next step is to scan the assets. Once the scan has been completed, network assets will automatically populate the asset manager with the individual active hosts.
