How do I integrate with Microsoft Teams?

This article describes how to send notifications from Security Center into Microsoft Teams.  Security Center can send notifications whenever:

  • A ticket is created.
  • A scheduled scan is about to start.
  • A scan has finished.

Old Teams connectors are retired
Microsoft has retired the classic "Connectors" (Incoming Webhook) setup that this integration previously relied on. If your existing integration has stopped posting messages, this is why. The steps below use Microsoft's new Workflows app instead, and take only a few minutes to set up. 

Integration Setup

First, create a workflow in Teams. This generates a webhook URL that Holm Security will use to post notifications.

Step 1: Create a workflow in Microsoft Teams

  1. In Microsoft Teams, open the Workflows app (find it in the left-hand app bar, or click More apps and search for "Workflows" if it is not pinned).
  2.  Under Start from a template, search for one of the following: 
    • Send webhook alerts to a channel: Post notifications in a Team channel
    • Send webhook alerts to a chat: Post notifications in a chat.
  3. Select the template, then choose the Team and Channel (or Chat) where you want Security Center notifications to appear.
  4. Click Save. Your workflow will be created.
  5. On the confirmation page, click Copy webhook link and save the URL somewhere safe - you will need it in the next step.

Step 2: Connect the webhook URL in Security Center

  1. Log in to Security Center.
  2. Click on the menu icon in the top right corner.
  3. Click Integrations.
  4. Paste the webhook URL you copied from Teams.
  5. Click Send test message.
  6. Click Update settings.
  7. Enable Teams using the checkbox.
  8. Done! Notifications will now be posted to the channel or chat you selected in Step 1.
