How do I whitelist Holm Security in Akeeba Admin Tools Pro for Joomla?

If you are using the Akeeba Admin Tools Pro extension for Joomla, you need to whitelist Holm Security external scanners to ensure web application assessments can be completed. This applies to both our external scanners and a local Scanner Appliance for scanning local web applications.

Steps to whitelist

  1. Log in to the backend of your Joomla website.

  2. In the main menu, select Components → Admin Tools.

  3. Select Web Application Firewall from the Admin Tools menu.

  4. Click Configure WAF.

  5. Select Exceptions from blocking.

  6. Enter the IP addresses or range to exclude in the Never block these IPs field:

    • For public websites scanned via Holm Security external scanners:
      185.163.84.0/22

    • For local web applications scanned via a Scanner Appliance:
      Enter the IP addresses of your Scanner Appliance.

  7. Click Save & Close to apply the settings.

The assessment can now access your Joomla site without being blocked by the firewall.
