How do I see if an authenticated web application scan was successful or not?

If you have configured authenticated web application scans and would like to check whether the authentication was successful, you can find this information in the scan warning message. For more details, you will need to check the info vulnerabilities in the scan result report or the Vulnerability Manager. Please activate the info severity level in the filter to access the information.

Additional Scan Info (HID 3-0-00002)

This HID will give you information related to authentications made through a per-recorded sequence. If there are no errors the autocomplete sequence will state that it authenticated successfully. In case there are issues, each issue will be listed with current actions that may be unsupported.

Form authentication

Authentication failure (HID-3-0-10116) 
The information in this HID states the result of the authentication and whether our scanning engine was unable to log in. If this HID is not present, the login was successful. 


Find informational HIDs:
To view informational HIDs, make sure the Info severity is enabled in your filter settings. Once activated, information HIDs will be visible in reports and within the Vulnerability Manager, depending on where you have activated it.
