How does the license limit work?
The license limit for OnPrem differs from that of our Cloud Service. OnPrem, we have added the option to set hard limits and soft limits on the License, which lets us set a specific number of assets that can be added to your account - both web applications and active/inactive IPs.
Hard limits
If you have a total of 100 active IPs and 100 inactive IP addresses in your license agreement and you proceed to start a scan on a larger network than your License - the first 100 active IPs and 100 inactive IPs will be scanned, and the number of IP's exceeding the License will not be scanned.
Soft Limits
If you have a total of 100 active IPs and 100 inactive IPs in your license agreement, soft limits can be set to a certain amount that you can "exceed" your current License. If you have +10% in your license agreement and proceed to start a scan on a larger network, then your License - the first 110 active IPs and 110 inactive IPs will be scanned, and the number of IPs exceeding the License will not be scanned.
Once the limit is reached according to your agreement, you cannot add any more assets to your account.
You can get an overview of your active License inside your Web Administrator by clicking on License.
