2024-02-14: Improved account management & trial support in Organizer
General
We have been busy improving the overall account management for customers and partners using Organizer. For partners we have made it easier to set up accounts for your purposes, such as a trial and paid end customer accounts. We have also improved the categorization of accounts to understand what kind of type it is, such as a customer account or an account use for demo puposes.
Partners using Organizer
Accounts can now have different states different states which also will impact and restrict how this account can be used:
- Trial
Requires a trial length to be set which defaults to 14 days. When the trial expires, the account is locked.- The next state for the account after trial expiration is either to be “Paying” or “Archived” within Organizer.
- Holm Security can extend the trial period in agreement.
- If you would like to change the default trial length, please talk to your sales representative.
- Paying
Paid accounts can either be “Subscription” or “One-time assessment”. Paying accounts cannot be changed to any of the other states. - Internal
An “Internal” account that should not be used for commercial purposes. - Demo
A “Demo” account that should only be used for demonstrative purposes when showing Security Center to a partner or end-customer.
Confirmation windows
Whenever the account state changes (e.g. from trial to paying customer) or a new account is created within Organizer, there will be a notification window where the user must confirm the account state. For example, when a new account (customer) is and you’re a partner, the user will have to confirm that Holm Security will charge for the account.
Trial expiration notification
When a Security Center Trial account is about to expire, there is a visible top bar in Security Center that highlights this for the user. An expired account cannot be accessed.
End customers using Organizer
If you’re an end customer using Organizer, all Security Center accounts that you create should be set to “Customer”.
