What does Mean Time to Resolution mean?
Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) is the average time an issue remains open before it is closed.
How is MTTR calculated?
Each day, the system calculates the average time between an issue’s latest opened and closed timestamps for all relevant closed issues (not ignored, disabled, or archived) that were closed within the last 32 days. The results are grouped by severity and stored as daily datapoints.
The MTTR widget displays data by averaging the most recent daily datapoints for the selected time period (for example, the last 14 days). This means the result reflects rolling 32-day measurement windows rather than only the visible period.
Tip: If MTTR increases in recent periods, it indicates that issues are currently taking longer to resolve compared to earlier periods.
